I went crazy with 8 sprays today as it's not a very heavy perfume on me, and I am reveling in this green aura of earth goddess loveliness. I am not sure how this should now smell, I have a big bottle narrow at top wider at bottom and dark perfume in it.

Adolescent Agnes would never choose to smell like industrial fumes, which was my unfortunate first impression. Hi RDfaerie, I think I may know the answer as to why you smell bitter chemicals in Halston Classic, when so many others like myself just adore this fragrance. Then the fragrant pair Catalyst for women and Catalyst for men were presented in 2003 and 2004, respectively.Actor Vera Farmiga plays a perfume artist (‘nose’) who works for International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) in the Netflix drama. The alcohol-free Halston is much lighter and doesn't project at all, it is a skin scent right away after spraying, and you have to be careful with it not to get it on your clothes, it's quite oily. I would recommend it only if you are a hardcore fan of vintage fragrances or if you really do gravitate toward musky woodsy incense-florals.

Although the newer bottles don’t smell exactly as I remember, it’s still something I love to wear myself when the mood hits and a nice pretty modern fruity floral just won’t do. After nine hours it becomes a delightful skin scent; the balance between the powdery and herbal/aromatic notes and the musk is sensational. In Halston, Farmiga’s perfumer asks the designer to bring in items with scents that have personal resonance for him—hence, he presents her with the jock strap, a Lady of the Night orchid, and a box of cigarettes. We see him offering Peretti his apartment as payment and bringing the jock strap of his lover to Farmiga, who, in a wonderfully shocking moment, affixes it to her face for a deep inhale.

When I got the box the first thing I did was tear into the Halston packaging to anoint myself, and this hell juice smelled just like someone ashed out a Marlboro Red on slightly mildewed oakmoss.

On a bad day, Calendula reminds me of nursery rhyme my mother used to sing to me about a little girl who had a little curl. I found a couple of bottles of the cologne on clearance at CVS this week, and was prepared to be somewhat disappointed by a reformulation. UPDATE: Third day in a row wearing Halston Classic and the only downside is longevity is pretty poor.One out of the five "Halston" episodes is dedicated to the story of the creation of this fragrance, a rare treat for perfume enthusiasts. I can't deny it's someone's favorite but not me as i had high hopes for it but it turned the opposite. With a concentration of essences between 2-4%, it tends to be much more affordable than other options.
